Puppy Delivery

Every Puppy Deserves a Special Homecoming

Choose Your Puppy Pickup and Delivery Option

You may fly or drive to our facility to pick up your puppy, or let us deliver it right to your door. Flying is best if you live outside of the United States, and we serve many international clients each year. While driving may be traumatic for your new puppy, we have a few ideas about making the trip home easier, which are discussed in the Driving section below. However, we recommend our delivery option. Moose & Mary couriers are highly trained and know how to make the trip as comfortable as possible for your new puppy.  The majority of our puppies are delivered by our team as this is the most stress-free method for all including your puppy.

Flying

Domestic airlines have policies regarding the age of puppies that fly on their planes. Most require that puppies be at least 8 – 10 weeks old. And you must have the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) veterinarian-certified and signed travel document that we get from our vet listing the dog’s vaccinations and other relevant information.

International airlines typically require puppies to have had their rabies vaccination, which is usually given when the pup is 16 weeks old. Further, the puppy must be current on de-worming and other vaccinations at 8 weeks of age. Additional charges and fees for vaccines and boarding may apply after that time.

You are also responsible for bringing an approved pet carrier/sky kennel for the puppy’s flight home. Contact your airline for additional details.

Driving

After all the excitement of meeting its new family, your puppy may sleep during the long car ride home. However, we have a few recommendations for making the trip easier for both human and animal family members.

While some people prefer to hold the new addition to the family in a blanket or towel, we believe that a crate or carrier may be a good option. Either way, the puppy might just sleep the whole way. Don’t forget to bring a water bowl, and remember to bring plenty of bottled water. We recommend that you not feed your puppy unless the trip home is extremely long.

If you have to stop along the road, keep in mind that dangers may lurk for your new pup. Avoid grassy areas as they may be hiding parasites from wild animals or unvaccinated pets. A good alternative is to travel with puppy pads so the pup can “go potty” in a safe and controlled environment.

Delivery

Moose & Mary wants your puppy’s transition from breeder to forever home to be as stress-free as possible. Toward that end, we have obtained certification from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) to transport puppies across state lines.

When you decide to use our delivery service, we immediately put you in contact with your courier. When the courier arrives at your door with your new pup, he or she will stay only 10 – 15 minutes. This is enough time to introduce your family to its newest member and to address any concerns and questions before the courier gets back on the road.

We deliver to any location in the contiguous United States. Not all our puppies come from our Tennessee facility; your puppy may be coming from a kennel in Texas, Missouri, Ohio, Florida, Georgia or Tennessee. Your delivery charge depends on the distance from the specific satellite kennel to your home. In addition, sales taxes vary by state.

The map on this page offers a rough estimate of the delivery fee based on your region. In addition to the courier fee, puppies must have an Intrastate Health Certificate from a licensed veterinarian, which means that your puppy must be taken back to our vet before leaving for your home. We also provide the first bag of food that the puppy is currently eating, which you are required to purchase.
